Savasana (Corpse Pose)

Savasana

The final resting pose of yoga practice. Paradoxically one of the most challenging poses — complete stillness integrates all the benefits of the preceding practice.

Benefits

Integrates the benefits of practice, deeply relaxes body and mind, reduces cortisol levels, prepares for meditation, restores the nervous system.

How To Practice

Lie flat on back. Let feet fall open naturally. Release arms alongside body, palms up. Close eyes. Consciously relax each body part from feet to head. Release all effort and control. Stay for 5-20 minutes. To come out, take a deep breath, gently move fingers and toes, then roll to one side before sitting up.
