Sleeping Swan

The Yin version of Pigeon Pose, held passively for 3-5 minutes. Targets the deep connective tissue of the hip, targeting fascia and ligaments rather than muscles.

Benefits

Deeply releases hip flexors, psoas, and outer hip ligaments, stimulates kidney and liver meridians, promotes deep relaxation.

How To Practice

From Downward Dog, bring one knee forward behind the wrist. Extend the back leg. Lower the front hip toward the mat (use a block under the hip if needed). Lower the torso to the mat or prop on forearms. Surrender completely, holding 3-5 minutes per side.
