A deep backbend and hip opener combining a pigeon hip stretch with a back leg bend and bound. The advanced variation of Pigeon Pose.

Benefits

Deeply opens hip flexors and quadriceps, backbends the thoracic spine, stretches the chest and shoulders, stimulates the sacral chakra.

How To Practice

From Pigeon Pose, bend the back knee and reach one or both hands back to grip the foot. Extend the spine long, then open the chest. This is an advanced pose — use a strap to bridge the gap between hand and foot if needed.
